BLUE RURAL SCENE with Gold Lustre Moon
This piece is a one off. If you would like to buy this - it will be this piece I send you and I will delete it from my website. Usually, I take orders and repeat the image as close as possible. In this section i like the freedom making these pieces afford me. I can twist and change ideas as I create knowing I wont have to recreate the formula.
My new range of individual peices have grown from my environment. I have a wonderful view from my new studio. The glass frontage displays an ever changing view over the fields to Inganess Bay and on to Deerness and in the distance, the island of Copinsay. Bright sunlight reveals the lighthouse on the island. I am truly fortunate to be able to create in this wonderful island, Orkney.
The piece is my interpretation of a rural scene. The glass measures 30 x 12cm approximately and is a freestanding semi circle.
This is made using clear glass with enamels and gold lustre. The first application of enamel has the design scratched out. It has had 3 x separate firings to acheive the depth of colour and texture.
