After cleaning and sanding off rough edges I apply the first background wash of colour and fire the glass to 800 deg. The following day, when the glass has cooled in the kiln, I apply  the second layer of lower firing enamels and again kiln fire this to 700 deg. The third and often fourth firing would involve adding further finer detail and texture to the design. If the design (like this piece) is slumped over a mould, the final firing would include this step. Lastly the curve is inspected for any rough edges, which will be sanded down a polish and a sticker! This design can be custom made into a light or have a stand in oak or painted wood. A quote can be provided if this is required. Scapa Beach where the sea flows into Scapa Flow.
