This is a one-of-a-kind piece.

The super thick panel measures approximately 18 x12cm and is mounted onto a beach stone from Dingieshowe Beach, Deerness, Orkney.

The glass panel is made using 6mm clear glass and is two pieces fused together. The glass is hand painted with enamels and black paint. The piece is kiln fired 4 times to achieve the depth of colour and detail.

The stone was salvaged from Dingieshowe by Dave the craftsman. He was out walking his dog and picked up the stone. The stone has super texture and dried seaweed welded (naturally) onto the surface.

The design features dead mackerel fish. Dead fish,  a popular theme in Vanitas Art.

This is part of my Memento Mori collection.
