Description

A new piece, part of a small collection, featuring  Craws, Oystercatchers & Blackbirds.

The curve measures approximately 30 x 16 cms. (when flat before being fired into a curve)

I made the design using clear glass and kiln-fired this piece 6 times. It took 7 days to complete this as each firing is an overnight process.

I made two of these curves because I wanted to see the difference between scratching the weeds out of the border and painting them on in white enamel. This version has the latter option. The white is bold.

I used high and low firing paints and enamels to achieve the different sections involved in developing my idea.

The black border colour is frit glass with silverstain behind.

I’m so happy with this and the other bird designs. I feel the extra work involved has paid off and who doesn’t like an crow?

*I haven’t tried this yet but I think this curve would look cracking in a light base. If you want to see it lit up I can take a few pics. The oak light bases have a unique simple design  custom made for me . A light source slots into the base and plugs into a wall socket. The large base is £95.00 *
