Description

This is a new version of an older design.

The panel measures approximately 34 x 10 cms

I made this panel using clear glass and painted the design with a bolderĀ  opaque pigment enamel.

The materials I used influenced my paintwork . I’ve used these enamels before but not truly explored their qualities.

I hope you like the new style?

The Hoy Hills is a popular design with visitors to OrkneyĀ  and proud Orcadians with roots in Hoy. The hills are hard to miss as they seem to be in the background wherever you go around here.

The panel slots into the oak base.

The Hoy Hills,Ā located on the island of Hoy in Orkney, Scotland, are known for their dramatic and rugged landscape, including the highest point in Orkney,Ā Ward Hill.Ā They offer stunning views of the surrounding islands and mainland, and are home to iconic landmarks like theĀ Old Man of HoyĀ andĀ St John’s Head.Ā The hills are characteris98.0ed by their high exposure to the sea, which influences the natural processes and contributes to a sense of wildness.Ā
