The inspiration for this collection?
retro kitchen ware, Casa Pupo, 1960’S oilcloth, vintage fabric, Scandinavian design, vintage public bar glass decor, caravan curtains, pop art, repeat pattern wallpaper. Also I really wanted to use orange and yellow as the main colours in a design.
The curve measures 14 x 6.5 cm.
I made this using clear glass cut from a large sheet. I kiln fired the design in three stages using Frits and enamels. Each firing takes 16 hours to complete and the temperatures range from 800- 700 deg. The final firing slumps the flat glass into a ceramic mould.
The joyous colours of this collection could grace the tables and sideboards of homes everywhere.
