Another new panel, Red Poppies and a Blue tit on a clear glass panel measuring approximately 13 x 30cm not including the stand.
I cut the glass from a large sheet of clear glass.
The design is hand painted in 4 stages.
Each stage requires an overnight kiln firing to seal the layers of enamels before further firings which will add depth of colour and detail to the design.
This latest collection has grown organically from a window design I have made for my own home. I wanted to depict local wild flowers. I’ve always enjoyed painting weeds and this collection features Wild Flag Irises, Dog Daisies and Poppies, now often including British birds too.
I’m pretty sure there will be more birds joining the flock in the future.
This piece is a one of a kind piece. I don’t have another but I will make more with the same elements but will probably have a different layout.
