Description
The design is from my own Life Drawing
This piece was made for a local Gallery, Ship of Fools, in Kirkwall. It is part of the Creative Orkney Collective Exhibition.
The piece measures 74cm tall and 55.5cm wide which includes the frame.
I made the design using clear glass and applying the design to the surface in three stages. Each stage requires a careful overnight firing. Careful as this is such a large piece.
The glass is kiln fired with enamels and silverstain.
The frame has a dull gold backing board which is spaced behind. (not against the glass) This can be removed if desired.
The glass is framed in a hand built wooden frame by DGR Designs in Deerness. LED Lighting can be installed within the frame at an extra cost of £40.00.
This is a large and stunning piece. Its also very heavy and would require a courier service from the Orkney Isles. This is fairly common for us folks here in Orkney.
