Description
This is a new Table-Light featuring the vibrant nasturtium flowers. The glass is set into a bright green handcrafted base which incorporates an LED light source, cable and plug.
I made the design using clear flat glass, cut, cleaned and sanded the edges before applying the opaque enamels and kiln firing at 840 deg.
Subsequent overnight firings add the details, including black enamel outlines and the platinum lustre cobweb that covers the right side of the glass. The final firing curves the flat glass over a ceramic mould.
I love the bright flowers that glow from red-orange-yellow. Its a summer reminder all year round.
All elements are made by hand in beautiful Orkney.
This piece is one-of-a-kind. All my work is individually made but this piece won’t be repeated with its green base.
The complete light measures 24 x 19cms.
