Description
A new piece, part of a small collection, featuring Oystercatchers, Craws & Blackbirds.
The curve measures approximately 30 x 16 cms. (when flat before being fired into a curve)
I made the design using clear glass and kiln-fired this piece 6 times. It took 7 days to complete this as each firing is an overnight process.
I used high and low firing paints and enamels to achieve the different sections involved in developing my idea.
The amber colour is frit glass.
I’m so happy with this and the other bird designs. I feel the extra work involved has paid off and who doesn’t like an oyster catcher?
*I haven’t tried this yet but I think this curve would look cracking in a light base. If you want to see it lit up I can take a few pics. The oak light bases have a unique simple design custom made for me . A light source slots into the base and plugs into a wall socket. The large base is £95.00 *
